Lola's 100 word challenge.
The prompt this week was to write 'A letter in a bottle.' We had to write words of encouragement to the people of the Phillipines after the terrible Typhoon Haiyan.
I have heard about the disaster and I hope that you are all ok. I have seen lots of people raising money for you so that you can stay healthy. I know that you might have lost your homes and the ones that you loved. I hope that you haven't lost your schools too. Just be brave. We are doing all we can to get your country back together and we are so so sorry to see you so so sad. I'd just like to say, do you need anything to help you? I would also like to say be brave and I hope you keep safe.
Daisy's 100 word challenge
To all of the Phillipines,
I know there's been a big disaster but it's going to be okay. The terrible typhoon has destroyed a lot of things. Some homes, some love, but don't feel worried and sad. I've seen lots of people raising money just for you. Have courage and be brave and you'll be okay. I know a lot of trees have been broken, but not enough to stop you breathing. So do you need anything? Because if you do just call us. You will be ok, yes you'll be fine.
Firefighters visit - Anastasija and Olivia
Beech and oak class went to see the fire engine
And we looked in the fire engine.
We got to hold the hose and dress up as a fireman.
We went to see ladders and we learned that there was gas, water and water that comes out of a tap. We looked at the tools and the first aid kit. We saw massive scissors but they are not any kind of scissors they’re a special kind of scissors to open cars and doors.
There is an axe to chop doors and cars ‘windows and roofs. We learned to never go near fire. By Anastasija and Olivia
Firefighters visit - Lola, Lauren and Meg
Today we had a very brilliant day because we had the fire service to are school. We got to have a quiz on these cool phones and we got to go in the fire engine. And we got to sit in the front, and we got to dress up as a fire-fighter it was really fun just before we went we got to use some of the hoses and even Mrs Round had a go at the hoses. We learnt a lot of facts like if you have a fire on you roll over on the floor and the fire will go out also the fire-fighters work for getting people and animals down from trees . Also you and your family have to have a plan so when you have a fire you will be able to get out quickly so you do not get burnt or hurt .It was a great day and I wish that it never ended.

Our visit from the Firefighters!
Last week we had a visit from the firefighters, it was brilliant! Here are some pictures to show you what we did. We also did some writing about the visit.
Oak class came to our class today. We split into two groups to watch the fire-fighters. Our group stayed in side first. We had a quiz with these calculator things. The quiz was called Quizdom. When it was our turn out-side we had lots of fun. First we had a look at the fire-engine, then we went in the fire-engine! Last we had a go with the hose and sprayed all the cars with water! After that it was time for them to go. We had a great time with the fire-fighters! We learnt that if a part of us catches fire stop, drop and roll.

Finlay's 100 word challenge
We have now started to complete the 100 word challenge. The prompt for this week was:
Here is Finlay's entry:
It was a wet, soggy and rainy day and the drain was looking like fun. She decided to go next to it thinking something would happen. Suddenly it came up and landed down on her.
Oh how worried she was. The look on her face! How she drowned like a fish begging for its prey.
Her feet on top of the water. As she floated in the water. She slowly suffocated as her lips dried.
